Since there are no dormitories in the Shanghai factory, Tesla will open up a specific area for sleeping, bathing, entertainment and catering, and provide each employee with sleeping bags, mattresses and some allowances. However, employees need to check their temperature twice a day and wash their hands four times a day, while nucleic acid testing needs to be carried out once a day for the first three days.

In this special environment, Tesla Shanghai factory is expected to accommodate about 400 employees. In addition, Tesla will prepare special passes for employees living in residential areas outside the factory and set up shuttle services for their commuting.

In this regard, industry analyst Guo Mingxuan said on twitter that compared with the two shift system of the Shanghai factory, Tesla will adopt the one shift system after returning to work this time, so the hourly workload will be directly halved, from 80 ~ 85jph to 40 ~ 45jph. Based on this calculation, the current parts inventory of the Shanghai factory is only for two and a half weeks, and he expects to return to normal as soon as mid May.
